Jim Blasingame Opens and Closes National Small Business Event
Leading small business expert contributes to America's Small Business Summit
Washington DC, June 12, 2014 - Award-winning thought-leader on small business and entrepreneurship, Jim Blasingame has once again been asked to play an important role in the U.S. Chamber’s 10th Annual America’s Small Business Summit. Blasingame will be master of ceremonies for the opening luncheon hosted by The Latino Coalition Wednesday, June 11, and deliver the closing keynote to the Chamber’s Council on Small Business on Friday, June 13.
“We are very excited to have our long-time friend and supporter, Jim Blasingame, deliver the keynote at the closing luncheon with our Small Business Council,” said Giovanni Coratolo, Vice President of Small Business Policy at the U.S. Chamber. “We’re looking forward to hearing about Jim’s important ideas which he reveals in his award-winning new book, 'The Age of the Customer.'”
Since 2004 America's Small Business Summit has brought together thousands of business owners and chamber executives from across the country to network, hear from business and policy experts, and meet with their legislators on Capitol Hill. In recent years The Latino Coalition, a non-profit organization addressing policy issues that affect Hispanics in the United States, has joined the Chamber as an event partner.
“I’m so grateful that my friend Jim Blasingame has agreed to be the emcee of our opening luncheon with several hundred of America’s top Hispanic leaders,” said Hector Barreto, chairman of The Latino Coalition and former administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. “Since my tenure at the SBA, I’ve observed the many different ways we can all count on Jim’s leadership and support of America’s small businesses.”
“It’s always an honor to be invited back to support my friends at the U.S. Chamber and their Summit partner The Latino Coalition,” Blasingame said. “The work both of these fine organizations do on behalf of America’s small businesses, especially connecting these very busy job creators with policy makers in Washington, is more than important. It’s invaluable.”
