Anna Schlegel
Anna N. Schlegel—named the first globalization innovator by SDL/Fortune—was born in Catalunya, a nation between Spain and France. She has led globalization teams for over 20 years with firms including Cisco, VMware, Xerox, VeriSign and for two localization vendors as the CEO and General Manager. Currently the Senior Director of Globalization and Information Engineering at NetApp, Schlegel is also co-chair of the company’s Women in Technology program. She is the co-founder of two non-profits: Women in Localization and Imagine Educating Everyone. Women in Localization has 9 global chapters and focuses on the development of women in areas of globalization, while Imagine Educating Everyone directly maintains 5 villages in the Mara region of Narok, Kenya.
Schlegel has taught Master Classes for numerous Universities, including, UC Berkeley (CA), Stanford (CA), School of International Studies of Barcelona (CAT), Middlebury Institute of International Studies of Monterey (CA), or the University of Maryland (MD). She has led several globalization workshops and webinars, been a Keynote Speaker in Industry Forums and her work has been published in major publications such as Forbes.com, Gala.com, Multilingual.com, and other research industry forums.
