NFI Research Result: Wish List

For the next year, the majority of senior executives and managers wish there would be improvements in efficiency and communication.

The top three areas that business leaders wish there would be improvements in the next year are efficiency (48%), communication (45%) and the balance between work and personal life (40%). At the bottom of the list were outsourcing, cell phone usage and improvements in the start and stop time of work, which were all below 10 percent.

Half of those working in large companies wish there would be improvements in office politics compared to 20 percent of those working in small companies. Forty-two percent of those in large companies wish there would be improvements in email compared to 15 percent of those in small companies. Business leaders in large companies wish there would be improvements in budget, meetings, working weekends and outsourcing compared to those working in small companies.

Those working in small companies wish there would be improvements in efficiency (53%) and communication (46%) in the next year. Compared to those in large companies, business leaders in small companies hope to see improvements in number of hours worked, vacations and compensation.
