Chris Bruhl

Chris Bruhl is the president and chief executive officer of The Business Council of Fairfield County, headquartered in Stamford, Connecticut. The Business Council is one of the largest regional business associations in the United States, nationally known for its approach to building leadership networks and its policy development roles in the areas of transportation, education, and resilience. Over the past five years, it has emerged in the Metro New York region as a leader in the development of growth services for small, diverse and early stage companies.

Mr. Bruhl has been a frequent consultant, writer, and speaker on the subjects of the relationship between education and economic competitiveness, the economic implications of demographic issues and trends, and the private sector’s role in public policy development. He has represented the United States at an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit and has addressed national conferences presented by the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations, the U.S. Department of Labor, Arts for America, the National Association of State Land Grant Colleges and Universities, the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, and the YMCAs of America. Mr. Bruhl is a contributing author to two books and was, for four years, the director of a national training program for non-profit board and staff conducted in affiliation with faculty from Yale University.
