Dr. Steve Webb is the best-selling author of the book Education in a Violent World. He is a police officer, a certified A.L.I.C.E. Active Threat Training Instructor, and R.A.I.D.E.R. Solo Engagement Tactics Level II Instructor for law enforcement. He is also an Associate Professor in Educational Administration at Southern Illinois University and McKendree University, specializing in school law and policy.

Dr. Webb is an award-winning educator, school resource officer, and the founder of Safe School Systems, LLC, a consulting firm that helps schools and communities enact and enhance common-sense school safety tactics. He is a nationally known school safety expert who has been recognized by the National School Public Relations Association (IL) with the Distinguished Service Award of Excellence and named a Leader Among Us by the Southern Business Journal.

Dr. Webb has been President of both the Illinois Association of School Administrators and the Association of Illinois Rural and Small Schools. He is currently a member of the American Association of School Administrators Governing Board, the Illinois Terrorism Task Force School Safety Commission, and the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services Child Death Review Board.
